Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Legal Counsel to join our pioneering brain-computer interface (BCI) startup. Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing all legal aspects of the company, including intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance
- Working with a cross-functional, interdisciplinary team to integrate legal strategies with hardware, software, nanoscience, and data science development
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to manage legal risks and ensure compliance with global regulations
- Interface and negotiate with regulatory agencies, investors, and partners
- Develop and implement legal policies and procedures
- Work with external legal consultants and advisors as needed
- Promote legal and ethical standards within the company
Qualifications:
- Expertise in intellectual property law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance
- Experience in the medical device or high-tech industry
- Strong understanding of global legal regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience working in early stage startups or other high-growth companies
- Collaboration experience with regulatory agencies and legal consultants
- An advanced degree in law (JD or equivalent) with 8+ years of relevant experience
- A willingness to take on high risk, high reward challenges
- Fluent in written and spoken English
