Job Summary:
We're seeking a versatile Laboratory Manager to establish and oversee our cutting-edge biotechnology facility. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the foundation of our research environment, integrating chemistry, nanomaterials, cell biology, and electronics. You'll be instrumental in creating a state-of-the-art lab that fosters groundbreaking discoveries. Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the opening and outfitting of a new biotechnology laboratory, with operations in chemistry, nanomaterials, cell biology, and electronics
- Working with internal staff and vendors to order, install and maintain equipment
- Track consumable use and order needed supplies
- Ensure local safety and environmental regulations are followed
- Coordinate with building owner and operations to make sure laboratory functions smoothly
- Assist with experimental operations as needed
Qualifications:
- Expertise in laboratory organization and management
- Experience with chemistry, materials science, biology, and electronics laboratory operations
- Experience with chemistry, biology, nanomaterials, and electronics laboratory safety regulations
- Familiarity with a broad spectrum of laboratory equipment
- Experience working with vendors, both for scientific equipment and supplies and building management
- Experience working in early stage startup or other small companies
- Ability to work independently and anticipate the needs of the laboratory
- A degree in chemistry, materials science, biology, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- A willingness to take on high risk, high reward challenges
- Fluent in written and spoken English
